Global Continuous Improvement Manager
The BU Couplings of Kongsberg Automotive wishes to strengthen its global Operations team in the Raufoss location. The position is dedicated to KA´s Continuous Improvement Program.
We are seeking a person dedicated to lead and coach continuous improvements activities, streamlining processes and mentoring/training to all levels of the organization. Starting from the Raufoss plant (lead plant of the BU Couplings), the person will transfer and coordinate BU´s Continuous improvement strategy in the other BU locations. Other locations include Cluses France, Wuxi China and Willys Texas.
Responsibilities • Support, coach, implement and deploy the BU Couplings lean strategy. Support effective and consistent Policy Deployment by cascading Corporate and Business Unit objectives. • Support&Develop training standards for organization, to ensure One-KA approach. Ensure one common standard for processes and efficient deployment throughout the business area. • Provide leadership/mentoring/training to all levels of the organization on the use and practice of C.I. methodology and tools. • Drive Lean and DFM requirements for new product introductions. • Develop infrastructure tools and supporting materials, including training to support the Kongsberg’s C.I. initiatives. Conduct workshops and other training programs that foster the cross functional deployment of Continuous Improvement Methodology. • Mentor Engineering and Manufacturing Project Leaders and cross functional Team members. • Act as a key driver of change within the business, supporting management/cross functional decisions by communicating the enterprise-wide changes to employees (and other stake holders such as suppliers) and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s transformation. • Work with all elements of the business to integrate C.I. to include engineering, new product development, supply chain, inventory management and production control. Build bridges within and across the Company’s divisional and functional organisations.
This position reports to Plant Manager and functionally to the BU director of operations. Workplace: Plant Raufoss, Norway.
Requirements • Technical Engineer BSc/MSc and/or relevant practical experience. • Experience within Continuous Improvement in manufacturing industry, preferably automotive. • Knowledge of and experience with relevant tools and techniques; Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, visual controls, standardized work, VSM & A3, Heijunka, Jidoka, Kaizen, DoE, DMAIC, DFSS, root cause analysis • A bonus is if you hold at least one Six Sigma degree; Green Belt, Black Belt etc • Ability to work independently and pro-active within your responsibilities. • High degree of personal integrity and confidence • Good communication skills • Facilitation skills with a high focus on solutions • Have a good command of written and spoken English in addition to a Scandinavian language.
