Plant Manager

Today's trucks, buses, trailers and off-road applications require the most reliable products available to drive through tough conditions like extreme cold and extreme heat. This requires a new way of thinking and building of air couplings systems. At the KA Raufoss plant in Norway, more than 280 people work with developing and producing air couplings for brake systems. More than 2 billion couplings have been sold in the last 30 years. Distributed under the brand name Raufoss Couplings™, Raufoss ABC™ System is a new generation of couplings. Raufoss Couplings™ holds a market leading position in Europe and is growing rapidly in the global market.

The Plant Manager in Raufoss is responsible for the financial performance of the plant and all its operations. The operations are highly automated and includes three production areas, quality, infrastructure maintenance, logistics and planning, process and tooling. The plant manager manages the local leadership team consisting of leaders for all operational areas and HR. The three production areas have between 30-80 blue collars each that work 3-4 shifts. In total, the plant has a catalogue of 925 articles and ship about 146 million parts per year globally.

Raufoss Couplings has a growth strategy for the years to come and is currently focusing on positioning the business to serve a growing global market. As the Business Units biggest plant, Raufoss is instrumental in this growth strategy and will play a key role in this future growth.

The plant is certified in accordance with ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO 14001:2015 and is a fact based organisation with key performance indicators tracked every day. In order to maintain a World-class performance within operations and to satisfy customers, the plant has a high focus on Lean Manufacturing principles and strives every day to continuously improve its operations in order to be competitive to the external market.

As a Plant Manager, you report to Director Operations Couplings (who is based in Germany). You will be located in Raufoss, Norway.

The person we are looking for

To be successful in this position the ideal candidate will have the following skills and competence:
• A demonstrated track record of success in manufacturing management and documented team leadership
• Experience from working in an international environment
• Education to Degree level, preferably Master of Science and/or Master of Business Administration
• A Management profile and high degree of personal integrity and confidence as well as strong leadership and people skills; ability to draw people together
• A systematic approach to dealing with issues that challenge the desired procedures or performance of the department, while being mindful of the plants objectives and KPI’s
• A strong communicator at all levels and in all media is essential
• A good financial acumen; financials beyond balance sheet and P&L
• Fluent in English and within one Scandinavian language
